2008 Gainesville Woman of Distinction
Emily "Sissy" Dunlap
Lawson, was honored as the 2008 Gainesville
Woman of Distinction. Growing up, she was a Girl Scout
herself, and her love of the community stayed with her
as she grew up. As an adult, she has founded many organizations,
served on multiple boards and become known for her philanthropic
efforts. |

Gainesville Woman of Distinction
Juanita Adams, the
2007 Gainesville Woman of Distinction honoree, has
been instrumental in giving to her community on a
daily basis. Her work as a volunteer at the First
Baptist Church teaching Citizenship and English as
a Second Language classes has helped hundreds become
American citizens. The many awards she's received
illustrate what a profound impact she has had.
