Camping!

Girl Scouts LOVE camping! Being outdoors, building a fire for S'Mores and other delectables, sleeping under the stars or in platform tents .... ah, memories of childhood ... or last week, as the case may be!

From troop campouts to summer camp, there are numerous opportunities to experience the great outdoors. Leaders: Make sure you consult the Troop Trip Guidelines and fill out a Troop Trip Form and a Troop Camping Form, and get them approved, before going on a camping trip!

To help troops and groups have a safe and fun camping experience, the Council operates two large campsites: Camp Otaki on Lake Hartwell and Camp Lanier on Lake Lanier. Both sites are available for troops to use as well as the locations of some summer day camps and council sponsored outdoor events.

For troops/groups or individuals wanting to add horseback riding to their list of fun outdoor activities, the Council has approved many riding facilities as well.
