Athens Women of Distinction

 

2008 Athens Woman of Distinction
Dr. Maxine Easom was named the 2008 Athens Woman of Distinction. She has had a long and storied career in the field of education and is well known for her dedication to her community. She has been recognized for her achievements by many different organizations.

2007 Athens Woman of Distinction
Helen Mills was honored as the 2007 Athens Woman of Distinction. She worked at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education for 28 years, until she retired from the University of Georgia as the vice president of the Office of Public Service and Outreach in 2003. She has received many honors for her countless hours of community service and outreach.


2006 Athens Woman of Distinction
Barbara Dooley was chosen as the 2006 Athens Woman of Distinction because of her work within the community. She is a member of the Community Foundation for Northeast Georgia, Georgia Lottery, Blaze Sports, St. Mary's Hospital Foundation, Donovan High School, Samaritan Counseling Center, and so much more.
2005 Athens Woman of Distinction
Shelby Lacy was chosen as the 2005 Athens Woman of Distinction because of her dedication to the community and work in the field of health. She is involved with the Nurses' Association, the Red Cross State Disaster Health Services Committee, the Tobacco Prevention Coalition, and many more organizations.
2004 Athens Woman of Distinction
Diane E. Dunston was chosen as the 2004 Athens Woman of Distinction because of her dedication and work within the community.
2003 Athens Woman of Distinction
Louise Boyce was chosen as the 2003 Athens Woman of Distinction because of her outstanding achievments and a lifetime of community service.
2002 Athens Woman of Distinction
Evelyn Neely was chosen as the 2002 Athens Woman of Distinction because of her dedication to the community and lifetime of achievments.
2001 Athens Woman of Distinction
Barbara Thurmond Archibald
was chosen as the 2001 Athens Woman of Distinction because of her passion and dedication.
2000 Athens Woman of Distinction
Phyllis Jenkis Barrow
was chosen as the 2000 Athens Woman of Distinction because of her lifetime of work within the community.
1999 Athens Woman of Distinction
Clementi Holder
was chosen as the 1999 Athens Woman of Distinction because of her dedication and commitment to the Girl Scouting movement and to the community.

Janey Cooley
was chosen as the 1998 Athens Woman of Distinction because of her dedication to the community and lifetime of achievments.
